Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the all-new India-specific E-Class. This luxury sedan’s launch is expected next month. Long has been the Mercedes E-Class LWB staple in the Indian market. But with the new long-wheelbase version, it promises to take its legacy even further.

Over 30 years on, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has ruled Indian roads as a symbol of luxury and elegance. But it was with the V213 long-wheelbase model in 2017 that things took off, besides becoming a bestseller for Mercedes-Benz. Now, the all-new V214 E-Class is here with the latest technology and comfort, all set to redefine the luxury sedans for India. Here’s everything you need to know about this highly anticipated release.

Mercedes E-Class LWB exteriors and stunning dimensions

The new Mercedes E-Class LWB comes out boldly designed and significantly inspired by the EQ electric models. A dramatic 3D Mercedes logo dominates the middle of a large chrome grille on which three-pointed stars are set on both sides, proclaiming this to be a statement of elegance and arrival. Gloss black paneling around the grille, while not always to everyone’s taste, is particularly striking when used on lighter body colors. The stretched bonnet has maintained crisp lines, now married to flush door handles borrowed from the flagship S-Class and 18-inch wheels that will add considerable athleticism to the car. Although tire dimensions are the same as those of the new BMW 5-Series, the E-Class has a more balanced aesthetic proportion.

Mention should be made here of the new LED tail lamps with a tri-arrow pattern at the back, as well as the tidy chrome trimming at the rear and sides of the car, also becoming quite tasteful in the Nautic Blue model in creating a harmony between luxury and style. The new model is slightly bigger than the predecessor: 13mm taller, 14mm longer, with 15mm more wheelbase. Such a difference will create an even better road presence and more cabin space.

Mercedes E-Class LWB Interiors and Unmatched Comfort

Let the doors open to this new E-Class. Inside the cabin, you are presented with a revolutionary interior in the shape of Mercedes’ new ‘Superscreen’ setup. The new center 14.4-inch central touchscreen, 12.3-inch passenger display, and digital instrument cluster come together in perfect harmony of form and function in this futuristic dashboard. The Burmester 4D surround sound system is another thing that animates the cabin and does provide that thrilling audio ambience.

The material and handiwork are at their best, while interior color options available are Cinnamon Brown, Macchiato Beige, and Black. This elegant combination contrasts fantastically with the smooth black dashboard, lit by silver accuracies and horizontal air vents.

The front seats are comfortable. They come with an adjustable thigh support and new neck pillows for a premium feeling of sitting in them. However, the driver’s seat boasts of a memory function while missing in the front passenger seat as well as ventilation.

So far, no one has beaten the comfort of rear seats in the new E-Class. Reclining backrests adjustable between 26 and 36 degrees, along with extendable thigh support and plush neck pillows, treat rear-seat riders to first-class comfort. The standard Chauffeur Package lets the rear-left rider adjust the front seat forward for more legroom, thus making this space feel roomier than expected. Although the seat design is good enough for two adults, a high central floor hump along with the rear air-con console makes it somewhat inconvenient for a third passenger in the middle. Boot space, at 510 liters, is deep and practical, with the space-saver spare tire neatly stowed beneath the floor.
